    While the world watches the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, join us for our own Rockwall County Library Winter Olympics on Thursday, February 15! After two gold-medal stories, we will enjoy some craft fun, and then participate in events. The Opening Ceremony begins at 7PM in the First Floor Meeting Room. Fun for the whole family! Parents: Bring your cameras and let the games begin!

    On Saturday, February 10, the Kitchen Witch (Shannon Orr) will show teens (ages 12-18) how to unleash their cookie creativity in this FREE 2-hour workshop at the Rockwall County Library. Shannon is an award-winning professional baker, caker, and cookie art maker based in Sherman, Texas. She enjoys creating unique and beautiful edible art, which you can see on her site (Twelve Eleven Bakery) and Instagram feed. The workshop is limited to 15 teens at this time; stop by the Youth Services (“Ask Me!”) desk to sign-up. (If enough interested teens sign-up, another class may be offered at a different time.)     Teens (grades 7-12), join us from 4:15-6PM on the first Tuesday of each month for a FREE fun activity or craft! On Tuesday, January 9, we'll make a "library due date" book bag that you can customize with your favorite book titles. Sign-up now for February's SPECIAL ACTIVITY: a Valentine's Day cookie decorating workshop on Saturday, February 10 at 1-3PM.
